Hurricane Ida Resources
My heart breaks for the families who lost loved ones and all those dealing with the effects of Hurricane Ida. I'm grateful that President Biden approved Governor Kathy Hochul's request for an Emergency Declaration for New York just after I joined with the New York Delegation in sending him a letter asking him to do just that. This road to recovery will be a long one, but with federal aid and under the leadership of Governor Hochul, I know we can build back strong.

Federal/FEMA Resources
FEMA Disaster Assistance and Damage Reporting:
Apply for FEMA financial assistance via the website here and for legal assistance here. Note: The last day to apply for disaster assistance is Friday, November 5, 2021. Call 1-800-621-3362 or TTY: 1-800-462-7585
National Flood Insurance:
Policyholders can file a claim or find information here.
FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers in New York City: Open 8:00am - 7:00pm.
Note: Manhattan residents visit a different borough and contact 311 for transportation assistance.

You can file a water damage claim with the comptroller’s office here, report damage to the city here, and find state assistance and mobile centers here. Call 888-SBS-4NYC (888-727-4692) for live one-on-one assistance. Please note that the NYC SBS encourages businesses to first contact their insurance company. Find more information here.
For Immigrants
Financial Assistance:
Some non-citizen nationals and qualified individuals are eligible to receive FEMA financial assistance and their status will not jeopardize their request. Find out more here. New York State has also provided funds to established community organizations for individuals unable to receive assistance through FEMA assistance programs or other means. Note: applications will close November 26, 2021. Call the ONA Hotline at 1-800-566-7636.

Food and Shelter Support:
Food delivery is available through the GetFoodNYC Emergency Home Food Delivery. Anyone in need of food as a result of Hurricane Ida can call 311 and receive home delivered meals.
Mental Health Services:
The Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) has resources on their website. You can also call the 24 hour hotline at 888-692-9355 or text "WELL" to 65173.
Religious Services:
The New York Disaster Interfaith Services (NYDIS) provides referrals to spiritual care providers and trained disaster chaplains at 212-669-6100.
