Colorado's 5th District is home to the United States Air Force Academy.  Founded in 1954, the Academy has offered world-class education, military training, and Division I athletics for over 60 years. Currently, the Academy has over 4,000 cadets and offers 30 programs to prepare them for their careers in the Air Force or Space Force. The Air Force academy is one of the nation's premier engineering schools.

The Academy is also home to the 10th ABW, the host wing for the Academy, which provides support to enhance the education and development of future Air Force and Space Force leaders. The wing is also responsible for medical, engineering, logistics, communications, personnel, services, security and other key support for more than 25,000 military and civilian personnel.

The Academy plays an important role in the military presence of the 5th District, and as an educational institution, the Academy contributes to the many education opportunities available to students. Visit the Air Force Academy website here.
