Emergency Housing Assistance

Thanks to the American Rescue Plan—a historic relief package I was proud to help pass—Congress has provided states and localities across the country with more than $46 billion in emergency housing assistance. As Missouri families continue to feel the financial strain of the COVID-19 pandemic, it's important to know that there are resources available to help cover rent, homeowner, and/or utility costs for those in need.

Below you will find programs and resources dedicated to helping residents of the Fifth Congressional District of Missouri stay in their homes—and I encourage you to reach out to my office if you have any questions or need any assistance.

For Kansas City, Missouri, Residents

*The Kansas City, Missouri Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERA) has been depleted and will be refunded in September 2021. The City is currently encouraging applicants to apply to the Missouri State Assistance for Housing Relief (SAFHR) Program (see below).

For Jackson County Residents OUTSIDE Kansas City Limits (This includes: Raytown, Grandview, Lee's Summit, Independence, or other Jackson County cities or unincorporated areas)

For Clay County Residents OUTSIDE Kansas City Limits (This includes North Kansas City, Claycomo, Liberty, Excelsior Springs, Kearney, Gladstone, or other Clay County cities or unincorporated areas)
