Economy and Jobs
One of my top priorities in Congress is creating and supporting legislation that sustains good-paying jobs and industries for American workers.
These jobs are created when we support incentives for American businesses to expand and invest in emerging technologies. When we invest in education and encourage our students to pursue STEM careers, we create jobs and support the workers of our future.
America needs strong workers to have a strong economy. I am proud to help reshape our laws to bolster unions, increase taxation on the wealthiest Americans, and invest in programs that give people the opportunity to provide for themselves and their families.
Small businesses are at the heart of our economy, and two of every three new jobs in America come from small businesses. When we support small businesses by extending access to capital, encouraging investment, and creating federal programs such as universal healthcare, we can create an environment that allows new businesses and their workers to thrive.
