Foster Invites Constituents to Participate in “Valentines for Vets”
Auora, IL – Today, Congressman Bill Foster again invited constituents of the Eleventh Congressional District to participate in the "Valentines for Vets" program.
Last year, students and community members made over 1,600 Valentine's Day cards. Foster's office delivered the valentines to the Joliet Community Based Outpatient Clinic, Judd Kendall VFW in Naperville, and Operation Care Package in Joliet, which sent valentines to troops serving overseas.
"The Valentines for Vets program is a great way for our community to show the men and women who have served our country in the Armed Services that their sacrifices are not forgotten," Foster said. "The amount of support we have seen from the community in past years has been overwhelming, and I hope we are able to build on that momentum and remind our soldiers that we care this Valentine's Day."
Constituents interested in participating can drop off their valentines at Congressman Foster's Aurora or Joliet offices by February 12, 2016. Information is available at foster.house.gov/valentines.
