Upward Bound helps Valley high school students stay in school, improve their grades, and attend college after graduation

WASHINGTON – Today, Representative Josh Harder announced that Modesto Junior College’s Upward Bound program will receive $631,819 from the Department of Education.

The Modesto Junior College Upward Bound program helps Valley high school students stay in school, improve their grades, graduate from high school, and attend college by offering academic support, college preparation services, tutoring, and motivation to succeed. The program operates in partnership with high schools in Modesto, Ceres, Patterson, and Riverbank.

“Our Valley students are some of the brightest and most impressive young people in the country, and it’s time they got the support they deserved,” said Rep. Harder. “I’m proud to bring home these funds so every student in our community who wants to go to college gets that opportunity.”
