District Information

Ohio’s Fifth Congressional District is located in the Northwest corner of Ohio, bordering both Michigan and Indiana. It is comprised of 14 counties, which include urban cities, rural communities, and small towns and villages.

While it is the largest agricultural district in the state, it is also home to more than 60,000 manufacturing jobs, which produce a wide variety of products, including glass, steel, auto parts, cookies and candy. The district also features a diverse energy mix reflective of a true all-of-the-above energy strategy.

With five four-year colleges and universities, the Fifth Congressional District is a hub for higher education. The area also boasts a rich history as the home to Fort Meigs, which was built to defend Ohio during the War of 1812.
