Interns with the offices of Rep. Lucy McBath will get a firsthand look at how the U.S. House of Representatives works. Full-time and part-time opportunities are available during the Fall, Spring, and Summer in the Washington, D.C. and Sandy Springs, Georgia offices.

Washington, D.C.

Interested in learning about the legislative process and how a congressional office functions? Interns in the Washington, DC office will research legislation, attend hearings and briefings, draft written materials, and answer constituent calls about the diverse issues before the House.

Interns will be given a stipend for the session. The internship program runs throughout the year for undergraduate, graduate students, or recent graduates. Office hours are generally 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Applications are no longer being accepted for the Spring 2023 session in Washington, DC. The application deadline for the Summer 2023 session is Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at 5:00pm with interviews starting in the following weeks.

Sandy Springs, Georgia

Interested in learning about how an in-district congressional office works? Interns in the Sandy Springs office will assist the outreach staff, provide support to the casework team, and aid with community outreach events.

The internship program runs throughout the year for college students. The hours are flexible and can accommodate students' course schedules. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. Please note that, due to the coronavirus, all District Office internships will be conducted virtually until further notice.
