Our Mission
The Office of Management Strategy and Solutions (M/SS) catalyzes strategic insights and solutions to help improve the Department’s management platform and advance foreign policy goals. We are comprised of three directorates, the Center for Analytics, Consulting and Advanced Projects, and Policy and Global Presence. Together, M/SS works with partners to solve Department-wide management and analytical challenges. Through our expertise and forward thinking, we transform crosscutting programs and policies to be more effective. Our passion lies in helping the Department uncover hidden insights that support mission’s ability to provide safe and effective diplomatic platforms to serve the American people.

Delivering Data Governance
The Enterprise Data Council provides oversight and organizes efforts that increase the Department’s data analytics capacity, quality, and technical architecture. The EDC endorses, prioritizes, and accelerates the Department’s data strategy with corresponding policy and actionable objectives.

M/SS provides reliable, actionable, and real-time air quality data through the Greening Diplomacy Initiative established environmental IoT in posts where local sources do not exist and collecting real-time data on post’s energy consumption enabling data-informed decisions.
