As of September 27, COVID-19 cases were increasing in 26 states. Increases are especially notable in the West and central parts of the United States. In the past week, 6 states reported more than 10,000 new cases. Also, COVID-19 case rates are now higher in rural counties than metropolitan counties. New data on CDC’s COVID-19 Data Tracker show trends in COVID-19 cases and deaths by urbanization and other population characteristics. Take steps to slow the spread. Wear a mask that covers your nose and mouth, stay 6 feet away from others, and wash your hands often. See more data: https://bit.ly/3n9EPeS

Parents: Keep your child healthy by bringing them for their routine well-child and vaccine visits. Although there is not yet a vaccine for COVID-19, there are safe and protective vaccines for flu, measles, whooping cough, and other harmful diseases. If your child is 6 months or older, make sure they get their flu vaccine by the end of October. And get yours, too!
