Congresswoman Adams recognizes that the importance of housing is based on the understanding that the issue affects each and every one of us, whether you are rich or poor, and regardless of your ethnicity. Everyone in this country deserves a decent, affordable place to call home. By making housing affordable, Congress can position individuals to become homeowners, who will undoubtedly strengthen the middle class and the overall economy.
She has continuously worked to protect home buyers by voting against measures that remove housing counseling and important disclosure requirements when receiving a mortgage. She also supports measures that will promote affordable housing for some of our most vulnerable communities including seniors, low income families, and veterans.

WASHINGTON — Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) released the following statement on the bipartisan passage of the $2 trillion economic aid passage to combat the coronavirus pandemic, also known as the CARES Act, which will now go to the President’s desk for his signature:
Charlotte – Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) will host a TeleTown Hall at 6:00 PM on Monday, March 23 to connect constituents with federal, state, and local programs that can provide help and support during the coronavirus pandemic. Additionally, she will provide an update on what legislators in Washington are doing to fight the health and economic effects of the coronavirus. Participants will be able to ask questions during a Q&A portion of the call.
CHARLOTTE - Earlier today, Congresswoman Alma S. Adams, Ph.D. (NC-12) sent a letter to North Carolina House Speaker Tim Moore and Senate President Pro Tem Phil Berger urging them to call a special session to deal with the effects of the COVID-19 novel coronavirus.
