Internships

In both my Washington DC office as well as my office in Lacey, internships run throughout the fall, spring and summer. Students gain invaluable work experience and my office is happy to assist interns who qualify for academic credit. The hours are flexible to accommodate hectic schedules, but generally run from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Internships in my Washington, D.C. office are eligible to recieve a stipend -- please indicate any financial need you may have in your application.

Washington DC

In Washington DC, interns’ responsibilities will include helping staff with correspondence and research, leading tours of the U.S. Capitol, as well as greeting guests, answering phones, and assisting with other front-office duties. As a result, interns learn about the legislative process and the many other functions of a congressional office.

If you would like to apply for a Congressional Internship in my office, please send a cover letter, resume, two references, and work availability to Erin Snodgrass at erin.snodgrass@mail.house.gov. Please indicate in the body of your email whether you would be interested in a legislative internship or a press internship. Please, no phone calls.

All applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
