  • COVID-19 Winter Surge & Vaccine Rollout - Is Hope on the Horizon?: Virtual Grand Rounds host by the California Health and Human Services Agency (CHHS) and the California Medical Association (CMA).   • COVID-19 vaccination is now open to all healthcare workers (HCWs) in Phase 1A. Phase 1A is for all HCWs who have the potential for direct or indirect exposure to patients or infectious materials. Visit the Healthcare Worker Vaccination webpage for information on how to access vaccination.
  • False Negative Molecular Tests There have been recent FDA warnings regarding false negative molecular tests. Read more Testing New and Noteworthy.
  • Emerging SARS-CoV-2 Variants (1-3-21) The CDC has updated the scientific brief including a map of confirmed US cases. Scientific Brief
  • Travel Quarantine As of 12-30-2020, a mandatory quarantine after long distance travel is in effect for persons traveling/returning to LA County. Quarantine may end after Day 10 if the traveler(s) never had any symptoms and they must continue to monitor themselves for COVID-19 symptoms for 14 days after arrival. See Mandatory Directive on Travel for more on the quarantine requirements and exemptions.

The CDC Clinician Call Center is available to clinicians who have COVID-19 clinical management questions. Call 800-CDC-INFO (800-232-4636) to be routed to Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) volunteer clinicians.

  • NHSN COVID-19 Nursing Home Data for LA County: includes data reported to CDC’s National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) system COVID-19 Long Term Care Facility Module, including resident & staff case and death counts, county community rates, and an inventory of supplies & PPE. The data include PCR (but not antibody and antigen) test results. NHSN Data
  • LAC DPH COVID-19 Dashboard for SNFS - self-reported weekly information on the number of COVID-19 tests performed and persons diagnosed in LAC SNFs. The data are collected through surveys facilitated by CDPH SNF Dashboard
  • Case Summary page: tables with cases by demographics and city/community, as well as hospitalizations and deaths. Also includes a listing of residential congregate settings with one or more cases and non-residential congregate settings (including workplaces, food and retail stores and educational settings) with five or more cases.
