Service Academy Nominations
Each year, Congressman Ruppersberger is privileged to nominate candidates from the Second District for appointments to our nation's four Service Academies. The Congressman may submit up to ten names to the U.S. Air Force Academy, the U.S. Military Academy, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, and the U.S. Naval Academy for consideration for the handful of vacancies available annually to the residents of Maryland. The U.S. Coast Guard does not require Congressional nominations for consideration.
If you are interested in serving your country and receiving a superb, tuition-free higher education, you may wish to consider a United States Service Academy. You must apply for a nomination with the Congressional District in which you reside. You can verify your Congressional District here before submitting your application. The deadline for 2020 is October 16, 2020.
To apply for a Congressional nomination, please download the Academy Application for 2020 as well as the Affidavit of Residence.
Please have transcripts and letters of recommendation sent directly from the sender to Congressman Ruppersberger's Director of Constituent Service, Ms. Jasmine Ginn, at jasmine.ginn@mail.house.gov.
You must upload your completed application and affidavit of residence using the form below.
NOTE: Due to the impact of COVID-19 on national standardized testing, SAT and ACT scores will not be part of my application for a nomination to the Class of 2025. Please do NOT send SAT or ACT scores to my office this year.
If you need assistance submitting your application, please call the District Office at 410-628-2701.
