Who We Are:
We’re excited to introduce VoteEarlyTN, a nonpartisan public information initiative created by Congressman Jim Cooper designed to educate and excite people about early voting. This initiative allows participants to engage their community by “adopting” one of the 14 days of early voting between October 14-29, 2020. Participating groups can be large, small, or anywhere in between!

Overview:
With early voting, we can safely and securely participate in our democracy. More and more Tennesseans are exploring their early voting options. For the August 6 primary, Davidson County had the highest number of early vote and absentee ballots cast in the last decade. An additional 30,000 voters requested absentee ballots, which is the largest we’ve seen in the past decade. Turnout is expected to double in size for the November election and we must be prepared.

However, Tennessee consistently ranks as the 3rd hardest state to vote in due to the thirty (30) day voter registration deadline, absentee (mail in) ballot restrictions and strict photo ID laws. During a pandemic, we face even more challenges.

How to Get Involved:
Participants can “adopt” one of the early vote days and share ways their community, network, fans and followers can get involved. Participating groups can be small, large, or anywhere in between! We will provide you with a toolkit including everything you need to make it great, as well as help customize the outreach to fit your platform and your audience.

How You Can Vote:

Absentee (mail in) voting:

  • You may request an absentee ballot as soon as possible here.

  • All first-time voters who meet the eligibility requirements can vote absentee their first time out.

In person Early Voting:

  • Early voting period: Wednesday, October 14 - Thursday, October 29
