WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) issued the following statement on the NAFTA 2.0 trade deal:
“I voted against the original NAFTA because it was a bad deal for American workers. There has been a steep decline in U.S. manufacturing jobs over the past 25 years as a result of NAFTA’s lax enforcement rules that encouraged corporations to outsource jobs to Mexico. Unfortunately, NAFTA 2.0 does little to improve upon this corporate giveaway that fails to prioritize workers.
Washington, DC – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (N-06) released the following statement after his legislation to completely ban asbestos was favorably reported, as amended, to the full House of Representatives. The Alan Reinstein Ban Asbestos Now Act of 2019 would ban the production, use and importation of asbestos. Pallone’s bill also implements a complete ban on the toxic substance one year after the bill’s passage.

Long Branch, NJ – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced today that the South Plainfield Fire Department has been awarded a $192,473 in federal grants from the Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG) program. The grant will enhance South Plainfield’s ability to protect the health and safety of the public, as well as its first-responders, by updating its respiratory equipment. The equipment includes air packs, breathing apparatus, and face protectors.
LONG BRANCH, NJ— Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) joined the New Jersey House delegation in sending a letter requesting that New Jersey Transit resolve the ongoing impasse with the rail workers contract. The letter asks NJ Transit to address the matter as quickly as possible in order to avoid any service disruption that would adversely affect New Jersey commuters. The bipartisan letter was led by Congressmen Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ-9) and Frank LoBiondo (R-NJ-2).
Leaders Bring Together Older, Long-Term Unemployed Workers with Career Coaches & Employers
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced that the Allenhurst Fire Department in Allenhurst, NJ, has been awarded $24,863 through the Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG) program. The AFG program is part of a coordinated, ongoing effort by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Department of Homeland Security in cooperation with the U.S. Fire Administration to improve the nation’s ability to respond to emergency situations.
