Health Care

As a former Physician Assistant, health care is an issue very close to the heart of Congressmember Karen Bass. With experience working in one of the nation's largest trauma wards in the country, Congressmember Bass advocates and legislates with the goal of making health care right, not a privilege. She believes the richest country in the history of the world should not struggle to cover its citizens.

Now, as we face a global pandemic, Congressmember Bass continues to advocate for quality, affordable health coverage for all.

The bill would require the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to collect and report racial, ethnic, and other demographic data on COVID-19 testing, treatment, and fatality rates, and provide a summary of the final statistics and a report to Congress within 60 days after the end of the public health emergency. The legislation comes as reports across the United States point to stark racial disparities in COVID-19 cases and fatalities. In
