Disaster Relief
It is essential that North Carolina residents are informed on the status of the hurricanes as updates are made available and prepared for the possibility of the storm impacting their city. The following resources can be used to track hurricanes and learn how to stay safe. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA): www.Ready.Gov, has a mobile app available for Apple and Android devices that allow you to receive updates from the National Weather Service, learn emergency preparedness tips and locate emergency centers near you that have FEMA personnel ready to assist you at each location. This app is free and can be installed by searching “FEMA” in the app store, or you can download it by clicking here using an Android device and here using an Apple device.
Other good resources to track the hurricane are The National Weather Service (NWS) www.weather.gov and The National Hurricane Center at www.hurricanes.gov, or receive updates on Twitter by following @NOAA and @NWS.
Below is the contact information for North Carolina Emergency Management and each county in the twelfth congressional district, contact information for power companies to monitor and report power outages, and other resources to keep you well-prepared and informed throughout the storm. Please print this page to be safe in the event of a power outage.
