WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Representative Gilbert R. Cisneros, Jr. (CA-39) released the following statement after the House passed H.R. 2203, the Homeland Security Improvement Act.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Gilbert R. Cisneros, Jr. (CA-39) worked to secure humanitarian and foreign aid in H.R. 2740, the Fiscal Year 2020 Appropriations package. Rep. Cisneros, along with colleagues from both sides of the aisle, allocated over $14 billion to bolster diplomacy through a variety of humanitarian assistance programs including USAID and Migration and Refugee Assistance (MRA).
Today, Congressman Gilbert R. Cisneros, Jr. (CA-39) cosponsored H.R. 152, calling for a formal end of the Korean War. While parties in the Korean conflict signed an Armistice Agreement that pledged “a complete cessation of hostilities and of all acts of armed force in Korea until a final peaceful settlement is achieved”, there has yet to be a formalized peace treaty ending the war.

“The President’s budget proposal fails to produce a responsible vision for our country and does not represent our country’s values. Instead, it undermines the Affordable Care Act and our health care system, weakens our national security, and leaves struggling families behind,” said Rep. Cisneros.
