(WASHINGTON, DC) Today, Rep. Grace F. Napolitano (CA-32) issued the following statement on the escalating situation with Iran and the upcoming House consideration of the War Powers Resolution:
“They never lost hope or gave up,” she said. “It is a true testament to the life and sacrifice of this serviceman, who was decorated with the National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal, that his loved ones remained so dedicated to ensuring he was not forgotten. His service, patriotism, and memory deserve to live on, which is why I’m proud to introduce this resolution with Congresswoman (Grace) Napolitano.”
U.S. Representatives Norma J. Torres (CA-35), Salud Carbajal (CA-24), and Grace F. Napolitano (CA-32) announced that their provision to increase federal funding by $5 million to assist the U.S. Air Force Educational Partnership Agreement has passed the U.S. House of Representatives as part of H.R. 2740, the first minibus of fiscal year 2020 appropriations bills.
“I’m proud to have worked with Rep. Torres and Rep. Napolitano to secure this aerospace funding—I know it will make a difference throughout our nation,” said Carbajal.
(WEST COVINA, CA) On Saturday, October 27, 2018, Rep. Grace F. Napolitano (D-El Monte) held an annual military academy information session at West Covina Senior Citizen Center where students, parents, and educators learned more about educational opportunities at our nation’s military service academies.
The bill passed easily after brief remarks from U.S. Rep. Rob Bishop, R-Utah, who called it “a no-brainer piece of legislation,” and U.S. Rep. Grace Napolitano, D- Calif., who said the legislation will make it easier for veterans groups to organize trips to national war memorials.
“We had heard that they stopped looking for him and we thought it was not proper they needed to find him,” Rep. Grace Napolitano, D- CA 32nd District, said. Velasco’s body was flown home Friday.
