U.S. Representatives Norma J. Torres (CA-35), Salud Carbajal (CA-24), and Grace F. Napolitano (CA-32) announced that their provision to increase federal funding by $5 million to assist the U.S. Air Force Educational Partnership Agreement has passed the U.S. House of Representatives as part of H.R. 2740, the first minibus of fiscal year 2020 appropriations bills.

 “I’m proud to have worked with Rep. Torres and Rep. Napolitano to secure this aerospace funding—I know it will make a difference throughout our nation,” said Carbajal.

At the capacity-filled invitation-only event, a US Congresswoman Representative Grace Napolitano representing California was also awarded an honorary doctorate for 30 years of public service.

Congresswoman Napolitano who was the special guest speaker at the graduation described her ordeal growing up poor after her birth in 1936 and early marriage at 18 and birthing five children by the time she was 23.
