Palmer and Republican Colleagues Unveil Plan for Better America

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Gary Palmer (AL-06) joined his Republican colleagues yesterday in a press conference to share their vision for a better future for America. Their plan centers on commitment to all American citizens and to policies that “restore, renew, and rebuild” the country. Congressman Palmer released the following statement:

“I am proud to join my colleagues in declaring our commitment to the American people, restoring our way of life, rebuilding our economy, and renewing the American dream. This is a firm commitment. Like everyone else, my colleagues and I are fed up with the division and destruction we are witnessing in our cities. We are fed up with the destructive rhetoric attacking the legitimacy of our law enforcement, and with policies that degrade our quality of life, diminish our economy, and dismantle the constitutional safeguards that protect our liberties,” Palmer said. “We are committed to defeating the COVID-19 virus and to ensuring that every American has access to a safe and effective vaccine.

“We’re also committed to making health care affordable, including expanding telehealth services. We want people with preexisting conditions protected, transparency in health care costs, and an end to surprise medical billing. We are committed to rebuilding the American economy by helping local businesses, adding 10 million good paying jobs, and providing training for all who want to acquire new skills to improve job prospects. We are committed to getting our supply of critical materials and medicines out of China, and to investing in critical infrastructure, including making broadband available to all Americans. And Americans can count on our commitment to do all we can to make our cities safe again. We are committed to bringing hope to parents and children trapped in failing and dangerous schools by giving parents the right to choose the school that is best for their children.

“Our motivation in making these commitments is that, like the rest of the country, we are fed up with a dysfunctional Congress that is failing our nation. We are committed to changing that and to doing all we can to reunite our nation by passing legislation that is good for all Americans.”
