Press Release

SCHAUMBURG, IL – Today, Congressman Krishnamoorthi announced that he’ll be introducing a resolution this week urging Americans to follow public health recommendations, denouncing COVID-19 “superspreader” events, and specifically condemning President Trump’s rallies which have repeatedly been followed by coronavirus outbreaks.

“The coronavirus pandemic has already killed more than 226,000 Americans, and we all have a responsibility to follow the guidance of public health experts and doctors to keep each other safe,” said Congressman Krishnamoorthi. “An essential part of that is officials and candidates setting a good example for the public by refusing to hold or attend potential superspreader events – gatherings at which public health recommendations on mask-wearing and social-distancing are disregarded, drastically increasing the risk of coronavirus infections and death. Defeating the coronavirus is only possible through Americans taking care of one another, and part of that means putting a stop to superspreader events.”
