Join Michael Chertoff and the Cybersecurity Caucus

Apr 16, 2012

As you may know, today’s hackers are no longer thrill-seeking teenagers; they are organized crime syndicates, loosely-knit groups intent on doing harm, and national militaries that commit espionage. According to General Alexander, Director of the NSA, “more than $1 trillion in intellectual property has been stolen by our adversaries.” From thousands of miles away, increasingly sophisticated enemies are electronically infiltrating sensitive U.S. computer networks to obtain military technologies.

American businesses and the federal government must increase their network security measures to make cyber espionage increasingly more difficult.   They must be able to monitor network activity in real-time to limit losses of intellectual property and private information.

In light of this critical issue, please join the Congressional Cybersecurity Caucus for a Cyber Summit on April 17 at 3PM in 2325 Rayburn House Office Building.

The topic for the panel discussion will be “The Cyber Threat and Industry Solutions.”  Panelists will explore the biggest cyber threats their industries face and how they are being addressed.

Cyber Summit Panelists:

Michael Chertoff, The Chertoff Group
Jeff Snyder, Raytheon
Liesyl Franz, TechAmerica
Chris Peters, Entergy
John Denning, Financial Services – Information Sharing Analysis Center
Thomas Gann, McAfee
Rick Burdette, Accuvant
