Oversight

The Constitution grants Congress the authority and responsibility to conduct oversight over the executive branch. The Committee is focused on holding the Administration accountable for acting in the best interests of all Americans, not just the wealthy few.

Labor

This means ensuring American workers have access to fair pay, decent benefits, safe workplaces, and a secure retirement. Civil Rights

Protecting Americans’ civil rights is a critical aspect of the Committee’s work. This includes reforming our juvenile justice system, strengthening the prevention and treatment of child abuse, and protecting funding for programs that support low-income families.

Committee Democrats are also working to protect the delicate balance between religious liberty and civil rights—to ensure religious freedom is not used as a shield for discrimination against women, LGBTQ+ Americans, and religious minorities.
