Ahead of tomorrow’s vote on final passage of the NDAA, we wanted to bring your attention to what Ranking Member Thornberry said on the House Floor during debate of the NDAA for fiscal year 2016 on October 1, 2015:
“But before any Member votes ‘no,’ I hope they ask themselves whether they really want to send a message to our troops that, yes,
that Member would be supportive of the troops, if only; or, I would really support the troops, but for; or, I would really support the troops maybe when. I don't think that is the right way to go.”
“The bottom line is, if Members vote against this bill, they are voting against everything in it. You may say you are for it, but you are voting against it.”
So, if Republicans want to vote against the NDAA on the Floor this week, then let’s be clear what they .are voting against:

So, if Republicans want to vote against the NDAA on the Floor this week, then let’s be clear what they .are voting against:
- A 3.1% pay raise for our service members;
- Building a strong national defense, including funding for major weapons programs;
- Funding for operations in Afghanistan, Iraq, and other battle zones;
- Programs to counter ISIS and Russian aggression; and
- Funding for key readiness programs to prepare forces for combat operations.
