Interior Museum

**UPDATED 1/4/2021: Following guidance related to COVID-19 response, the Interior Museum remains temporarily closed, with no gallery access, building tours, or in-person public programs. When we have a reopening date to announce, updates will be posted here on the Interior Museum's website, as well as on Twitter and Facebook. We encourage you to explore our online offerings and look forward to welcoming you back!**

Since 1938, the Interior Museum’s mission has been to inspire and educate Departmental employees—as well as the general public—about the ongoing stewardship of the nation’s public lands, natural resources, and cultural heritage.

The Museum's exhibition gallery is open to the public, Mondays through Fridays, from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM (closed Federal holidays). For any weather-related or governmental closures, we follow the Federal Government Operating Status for the DC area. Advance reservations are required for the hour-long, public tours provided on Tuesdays and Thursdays of the Stewart Lee Udall Department of the Interior Building.

The Interior Museum and its tours and public events are free of charge. Visitors to the building are required to present a valid, government-issued photo ID and pass through a security screening with bag and parcel checks.
