Dear Friends,

Today, I again sent a letter to Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health Chair Anna Eshoo. It is critical that the committee holds a hearing on the impact COVID-19 is having on Americans’ mental health. This is just another example of essential work the committee should be doing but is being ignored by the Majority.

National Update:
Health and Human Services (HHS) released more information on how the Provider Relief Fund dollars have been allocated to hospitals in COVID-19 hotspots and rural areas.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services continue to release Emergency Declaration Blanket Waivers that provide the flexibilities needed to take care of patients during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Federal Trade Commission released advice on how to avoid scams related to COVID-19.

Texas Update:
The Department of the Treasury published a FAQ document on how states and local governments can spend funds allocated from the Coronavirus Relief Fund.

The National Science Foundation received CARES Act supplemental funding and has distributed 25 grants so that various Texas universities could conduct research related to COVID-19.

Until next time, this is your doctor's note.
