What must be included in the application package?

What must be included in the application package?

  • Congressman Balderson’s Nomination Application
  • A small photograph (maximum size 3 ½” x 3 ½”)
  • List of special honors received, extracurricular activities, achievements
  • One to two-page essay stating your interests, goals, why you want to attend an academy
  • OFFICIAL High School transcripts (and OFFICIAL college transcripts if applicable)
  • OFFICIAL SAT scores/ACT scores

It is recommended you take the SAT/ACT standardized tests as early and as often as possible.

The academies consider the highest test score received in each category regardless of when that score was received. You may have an official report of your scores sent directly to my office by designating my code: SAT # 1961, ACT # 7608.

Minimum of two letters of recommendation from: teachers, church leaders, coaches or employers. Additional letters of recommendation are welcome and will be considered.


All of the above items must be received by Congressman Balderson’s Worthington Office by November 1, 2020 at 5:00 p.m.
