Internships

I am proud to offer internship opportunities to college students who have completed at least their undergraduate freshman year. Priority will be given to upperclassmen and students who are from Alabama's Second Congressional District. This internship program is a competitive experience designed for students who are interested in learning about our nation's legislative process and the day-to-day operations of a congressional office. Due to space limitations, please understand that only a small number of applicants will be accepted.

Washington, D.C. Internships

In my Washington, D.C. office, intern responsibilities will vary. They will be asked to assist with a variety of tasks, including answer phones, run errands, research legislation, attend hearings and briefings, and answer constituent letters on various issues. As a result, interns learn about the legislative process and the many other functions of a congressional office.

Office hours are 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. when Congress is in session, and 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. when not in session.

Alabama Internships

In my Alabama offices, interns may be asked to do a variety of things, including day-to-day office work such as answering phones and writing letters. In addition, interns may be assigned to assist with various constituent casework or work on District-based projects of importance.

Internship applications are closed at this time.
