As our country responds to the challenges associated with Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), it is incumbent upon my office to provide the people of Alabama’s Second Congressional District with helpful resources and information surrounding this pandemic.

Health and Prevention Resources

For general information on COVID-19 from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), visit the CDC's COVID-19 page.

For healthcare providers, patients, and those with general questions regarding COVID-19, visit Alabama Department of Public Health's (ADPH) COVID-19 resource page.

  • ADPH COVID-19 Data and Surveillance Dashboard. Statewide testing locations can be found on the ADPH Dashboard, as well as county-specific data.

Economic Support for Individuals and Businesses

Internal Revenue Service (IRS):

  • Economic impact payments through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act have been and continue to be distributed to eligible Americans, with no action required by most people.

  • The Employee Retention Credit is a refundable tax credit that encourages businesses to keep employees on their payroll. 

  • The Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) provides refundable tax credits that reimburse small and midsize employers to cover the costs of paid sick and family leave for any employee's leave related to COVID-19. 

U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA):

  • The Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) provides SBA loans to small businesses to help retain employees and keep the business viable.

  • The Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) Loan Forgiveness Application is for borrowers to apply for forgiveness of their PPP loans, consistent with the CARES Act. SBA will soon issue regulations and guidance to further assist borrowers as they complete their applications and to provide lenders with instruction. 

  • Federal disaster loan assistance is available for eligible businesses, private non-profits, homeowners, and renters. 

  • SBA small business guidance and loan resources.

  • For local small businesses requesting assistance, contact the Alabama District Office, which serves small businesses in all 67 counties across Alabama. 

U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA):

  • USDA will be accepting applications for the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP) from agricultural producers impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic beginning May 26 through August 28. Program details can be found here

  • Alabama's official online platform for information regarding the state's efforts in response to COVID-19. Here, individuals and businesses can learn more about how to get help if needed and how to volunteer their efforts if interested.

Coronavirus Relief Fund Expenditure Request Form:

  • Developed by the Governor's office for the public to submit for reimbursement for expenses incurred from COVID-19. Access the request form here.
