Gun Violence Prevention

The seemingly endless list of mass shootings and the stunning number of daily gun deaths in the United States should warrant immediate action by our government including instituting universal background checks, an assault weapons ban and limiting high capacity magazines.

  • Congressman Pallone has cosponsored measures in Congress that would increase spending for the National Instant Criminal Background System, establish a Select Committee on Gun Violence Prevention, and prevent the sale of large capacity ammunition feeding devices.
  • Congressman Pallone has cosponsored the Public Safety and Second Amendment Rights Protection Act, which would expand the existing background check system to cover all commercial firearm sales, including those at gun shows, over the internet or in classified ads while providing reasonable exceptions for family and friend transfers.

Washington, D.C.- Today in New Brunswick, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr., joined New Brunswick Mayor James Cahill, law enforcement and gun safety advocates to announce new legislation in Congress to prevent the manufacturing of 3-D firearms. The bill would prohibit the sale, manufacturing, import or marketing of incomplete firearm FRAMES, as well as certain gun parts kits.
