Congressional Art Competition

Each spring, a nationwide art competition is sponsored by the Members of the U.S. House of Representatives to recognize and enourage artistic talent in each congressional district. Beginning in 1982, the Artistic Discovery Competition has drawn more than 650,000 high school participants- including our very own artists from Oklahoma's Third Congressional District.

The contest is open to all high school students (public, private, or homeschooled) and will be hosted in my Canadian County District Office. The First Place artist will receive free airfare for two to participate in the Congressional Art Competition's ribbon-cutting ceremony this summer and will have their winning piece hang in the U.S. Capitol for a year. The Second Place artist will have his/her work placed in the Canadian County District Office.

If you or someone you know is interested in participating, please see the important documents below, including the rules and regulations relating to the 2020 Congressional Art Competition.

In order to responsibly practice social distancing, this year's contest will be digital. The deadline for entries is Thursday, May 14, 2020.  For more information on registration and submission locations, contact Allison Litterell in my Canadian County office at (405) 373-1958.
