The Texas Commission on Judicial Selection Released Final Report

The Texas Commission on Judicial Selection released their Final Report to the Legislature. The Commission was established in 2019 by the 86th Legislature through House Bill 3040, and was charged "to study and review the method by which statutory county court judges, including probate court judges; district judges; appellate and Supreme Court Justices are selected for office in Texas."
Judicial Compensation Commission Released 2020 Report

The Judicial Compensation Commission released its 2020 Report to the Legislature. Each biennium, the Commission is required to take into consideration several factors, most importantly, the level of overall compensation adequate to attract the most highly qualified individuals in the state, from a diversity of life and professional experiences, to serve in the judiciary without unreasonable economic hardship and with judicial independence unaffected by financial concerns.
