DOI Announces Final E-Bike Rule on Federal LandsToday, members of the Western Caucus released the following statements after the Department of the Interior announced the final rule to update E-Bike regulations on federal lands. “Recreational access and multiple use are core principles of public lands management in the United States. Today’s announcement by DOI shows this Administrations commitment to these two core principles and will open our public lands to an even greater audience. I thank Secretary Bernhardt and his team for their hard work and stewardship of our federal lands,” said Congressional Western Caucus Chairman Paul Gosar (AZ-04). “This final rule by the Trump Administration will increase access to our nation’s beautiful parks and landscapes. Americans want more access to public lands, and updated electric bicycle regulations will encourage even more people to get out and enjoy the land we love," said Vice Chairman for Departments of Interior and Energy Dan Newhouse (WA-04). “Our public land should remain just that: public and available for all Americans to enjoy. DOI’s electric bike rule is just another iteration in the larger goal of expanding access and recreation opportunities across public land nationwide. I applaud this administration for their action," said Vice Chairman for Infrastructure and Forestry Bruce Westerman (AR-04). “I congratulate the Trump Administration on lifting the burdensome restrictions on e-bike use on public lands.
