From his seat on the U.S. House Agriculture Committee, U.S. Rep. Ted Yoho, R-Fla., wrote U.S. Agriculture Sec. Sonny Perdue asking for a Class 1 price floor be set for fluid milk.

Yoho, who worked as a large animal veteran for more than 30 years in North Central Florida before being elected to Congress in 2012, explained why he sent the letter to Perdue.

Rep. Ted Yoho (R-Fla.) on Wednesday introduced legislation that would create a year-round agricultural guest worker program.

The Florida Republican said the bill would address the labor shortages in the sector and help ensure a “reliable, predictable workforce,” providing reforms for those with H-2A visas.

“We've got a bill, I think it's the perfect bill because it solves the needs of our producers plus it also gives opportunity to the workers,” he said at a press conference.
