Greg Walden Remains Top in Town Halls

Representative Greg Walden (R-Hood River) released a statement after completing 40 town halls this year. Walden has held more town halls per capita and at large than any other member of the Oregon Congressional Delegation this year and more than the majority of members of the House of Representatives. He has held 188 town halls since 2012 and 40 this year alone. Walden represents the Second Congressional District of Oregon, the largest in the state and one of the largest in the United States.

“Traveling the district to hear from Oregonians is one of the best, and perhaps most important, parts of my job,” said Walden. “Town halls are an important opportunity to hear what issues people face across our district and add them to my to-do list. I appreciate all who take the time out of their day to come out and participate. Every town hall I hold is also a reminder, that thanks to our brave men and women in uniform, we are blessed with great freedoms, like the freedom to assemble and the freedom of speech. We might disagree with fellow Americans on various issues, but I think we can all agree that it is great to live in a free country."

This year, Walden held town halls across eight counties in southern, central, and eastern Oregon in January and held town halls in Lake and Morrow counties in February. In early March, Walden held town hall meetings in Hood River, Wasco, and Umatilla counties, before holding meetings in Wallowa, Union, Baker, Grant, Wheeler, Gilliam, and Sherman counties at the end of March. Ahead of July 4th, Walden held 13 town halls in 6 days all across the state. Most recently, Walden held 5 town halls in Sherman, Gilliam, Morrow, Harney, and Wasco counties.
