Sherrill will be joined on August 24th by panelists who will update veterans on VA services during the pandemic, provide information for veteran-owned businesses, as well as highlight COVID-related resources available for mental health, substance abuse, and housing.

One of the most important parts of my job in Congress is to advocate for and assist veterans living in NJ-11.

In order to help veterans with pending or potential claims, my office is partnering with the Department of Veterans Affairs, Newark Regional Office, for a Telephonic Veterans Claims Clinic on August 24, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Washington, DC –Servicewomen & Women Veterans Congressional Caucus Chairwoman Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA) and Vice Chairs Mikie Sherrill (D-NJ), Elaine Luria (D-VA) and Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) requested that the House and Senate Armed Services Committees hold hearings into the murder of Spc. Vanessa Guillen, support legislative proposals to address sexual assault and misconduct and work to implement policies that root out the culture of sexual harassment and assault in the Armed Forces.

Washington, DC -- Representative Mikie Sherrill (NJ-11) voted today to advance the bipartisan National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2021 in the House Armed Services Committee. Representative Sherrill fought to include strong provisions in support of Picatinny Arsenal, sustainable energy, COVID-19 response, and justice for service members who have survived sexual assault. The NDAA passed unanimously, 56-0.

Representative Sherrill’s resolution (H.Res. 1000) is a companion to S.Res. 616, introduced by Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ).
