Washington, DC -- Representative Mikie Sherrill (NJ-11) voted today to advance two major pieces of child care legislation that will help ensure children, families, and workers are protected as we work to safely reopen the country. The Child Care is Essential Act (H.R. 7027) and the Child Care for Economic Recovery Act (H.R. 7327) will create a grant fund for child care providers to support safe reopening and operations and establish or expand tax credits for providers and families.
Washington, DC — Representative Mikie Sherrill (NJ-11) and Representative Scott Tipton (CO-03) are introducing bipartisan legislation this week to establish a youth study abroad program in Normandy, France, within the U.S. Department of State. This program would allow for American high school students to learn the lessons of WWII and the Holocaust by visiting educational sites of historic importance during the Operation Overlord campaign.

Washington, DC – Today, Representative Sherrill (D-NJ) announced with Representative Paul Cook (R-CA) the introduction of the Armament Graduate School Act (H.R. 2880) to provide degree-granting authority to the Armament Graduate School at Picatinny Arsenal in New Jersey. The Armament Graduate School (AGS) currently issues certificates of completion for the required coursework. Accreditation will not only attract a wider range of applicants, but reflects the academic rigor required for graduation.
Washington, DC – Representative Mikie Sherrill (NJ-11) led the 14-member New Jersey Congressional delegation in writing a bipartisan letter to the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment and the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering to enhance partnerships between Department of Defense (DoD) research laboratories and Rutgers University, Stevens Institute of Technology, Rowan University, Farleigh Dickinson University, and the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
