Press Release

VILLAGE OF OAK CREEK – Today, Congressman Tom O’Halleran (AZ-01) applauded the opening of the Little Singer School on Navajo Nation. The Little Singer School is one of several schools O’Halleran fought to secure funding for through the Bureau of Indian Education School Construction program.

“I am beyond pleased to see funding I have pushed for used to address the BIE School Construction backlog and build schools that serve Navajo children, families, and entire communities,” said O’Halleran. “This is a proud accomplishment for all involved, and I look forward to seeing the good this will do for the future of the Navajo Nation and Arizona as a whole. I will continue to work on both sides of the aisle to increase funding for this program and fully address this backlog.”

Additionally, the following schools are currently in the planning and design process:

  • Lukachukai Community School
  • Greasewood Springs Community School
  • T’iis Nazbas Community School
  • Tonalea Redlake School
