RESOURCES FOR ARIZONA VETERANS
The VA is suspending all actions on Veteran debts under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Treasury Department. This includes the suspension of collection action or extending repayment terms on preexisting VA debts.
- For benefit debts, Veterans should contact the VA Debt Management Center at 1-800-827-0648.
- For health care debts, Veterans should contact the Health Resource Center at 1-866-400-1238 or https://www.pay.gov for payments.
Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA) has re-launched the Quick Reaction Force (QRF), a free, anonymous tool for veterans and their families that operates 24/7/365. QRF is a referral serivce that provides direct peer support and connects veterans to valuable resources. QRF addresses issues spanning financial assistance, mental health, housing and homelessness, legal issues, disability claims, education benefits, employment services, and navigating and accessing VA benefits. - The CARES Act includes $19.57 billion in funding to ensure the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has the equipment, tests, telehealth capabilities and support services necessary to support veterans and the health care workforce at facilities nationwide.
- Local area agencies on aging that provide services to veterans can enroll or renew veterans in a veteran-directed care program through the telephone or telehealth to ensure a face-to-face visit isn’t necessary, but that veterans can still receive services, such as home-based care.
