INTERNET AND WI-FI ACCESS:

As many of us transition to teleworking and online learning, I am working to ensure every American can access quality, high-speed internet.

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has come to an agreement with many major internet providers that they will waive late fees, not cut off service for lack of payment, and open hot-spots for increased internet access during the coronavirus pandemic. For individual internet providers, visit their websites:

  • Cox Communications: Cox Communications is offering significant discounts on internet plans, increased data speeds, and public use of wi-fi hot-spots. They will not disconnect any customer’s internet service or charge late fees to customers struggling due to COVID-19.
  • Comcast: Comcast is providing free public access to all hot-spots, unlimited data for all existing customers, and 60 days of complimentary internet for low-income families. They will not disconnect any customer’s internet service or charge late fees to customers struggling due to COVID-19.
  • Charter: Charter is offering 60 days of free wi-fi to all houses with students in kindergarten through 12th grade. Its wi-fi hotspots will also be available for public use.
  • AT&T: AT&T is giving public hot-spots and 15 extra GB of mobile hot-spot use, and will not disconnect internet services or charge late/overage fees to existing customers struggling as a result of the coronavirus.
  • Verizon: Verizon is waiving late fees and overcharge charges for 60 days between March 16 and May 13. They will not disconnect internet services for customers who cannot pay for reasons related to COVID-19.
  • Sprint: Sprint is providing unlimited data to existing customers and giving 20 GB of free mobile hotspot capabilities on all enabled devices.
  • T-Mobile: T-Mobile is providing unlimited data to existing customers and giving 20 GB of free mobile hotspot capabilities on all enabled devices.
  • Spectrum: Spectrum is offering free WiFi hotspots for public use. Spectrum also a high-speed broadband program to eligible low-income households, and is now offering free access to internet and WiFi for 60 days for new PreK-12, college student and educator households who don't currently have internet or WiFi service. Spectrum will not terminate service for residential or small business customers who face difficult economic circumstances related to the COVID-19 pandemic and won't charge late fees for those customers facing difficult economic circumstances related to the pandemic.
  • Sparklight: Sparklight has made unlimited data available on all internet services through May 12m, and is waiving late fees for its customers for 60 days, and is offering payment deferrals to customers who call to make arrangements. Sparklight is also offering discounted rates for internet plans for low-income families, students, and seniors, and is now offering free hot-spots for public use. 
  • Mediacom: Mediacom has upgraded their low-cost internet program and is offering 60 days of free service for qualifying families who subscribe to Connect2Compete before May 15th. Mediacom is also offering free Wifi hotspot access and is halting monthly data allowances and discounting rates for internet plans.
  • Earthlink: Earthlink does not cap data and will not terminate the service of any residential or small business customers because of their inability to pay their bill due to disruptions caused by the coronavirus pandemic. Earthlink will also not charge late payment fees residential or small business customers may incur because of economic hardship related to the coronavirus pandemic.
  • Viasat: Viasat won't terminate service to any residential or small business customers because of their inability to pay their bills and will waive any late fees that any residential or small business customers incur because of their economic circumstances. Viasat is also offering open access to its Wi-Fi hotspots to any American who needs them.
  • Gila River Telecommunications: Gila River Telecommunications is offering free hotspots for public use and is temporarily halting all disconnects and will be waiving all late fees for Residential and Business customers.
  • Navajo Tribal Utility Authority: Navajo Tribal Utility Authority will be delaying utility service disconnections for residential customers, waiving late fees for residential customers, and waiving reconnection fees for residential customers.
  • San Carlos Apache Telecommunications Utility: San Carlos Apache Telecommunications Utility will not be disconnecting internet service for a period of 90 days.
  • Tohono O'odham Utility Authority: Tohono O'odham Utility Authority will be suspending residential disconnects for non-payment through the end of April.
  • Airebeam: Airebeam is offering reduced rates for internet service. Visit their website for more information.
  • Cellular One: Cellular One is doubling data allowance for the month of April.
  • Max Internet: Max Internet will not suspend service due to lack of payment for those affected by COVID-19.
  • SynkroMax: SynkroMax will not suspend service due to lack of payment for those affected by COVID-19.
  • Valley Telecom: Valley Telecom will not suspend service due to lack of payment for those affected by COVID-19.

FREE WIFI ACCESS:

Governor Ducey announced on April 8th that 200 hotspot devices will be given to students across Arizona who don't have access to internet & can't complete their school work. Programs like this are critical for students and families as we make adjustments to slow the spread of COVID-19.

Larson Memorial Public Library - WiFi is available to the public 24/7 from the parking lot at 1595 Johnson Dr. in Lakeside.

Round Valley Schools - WiFi is available via most Round Valley school parking lots. 

Round Valley Public Library - 179 S Main St, Eagar, AZ

Show Low Public Library - WiFi is available to the public 24/7 from the parking lot at 181 N. 9th St. 

Snowflake-Taylor Public Library - WiFi is available to the public 27/7 from the parking lot at 418 West 4th St S, Snowflake.

Sparklight - WiFi hotspot can be accessed in the Sparklight local office parking lot at 1341 E. Thornton Drive in Show Low.

St. Johns High School - WiFi can be accessed from the High School parking lot.

St. Johns Public Library - 35 South 3rd West, St. Johns. (All Apache County Public Library WiFi hours are from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.)
