Internship Descriptions

Washington, D.C. Legislative Internship

In Washington, interns' responsibilities will vary. Duties will include conducting legislative research, drafting memos, assisting with front office duties, and performing basic administrative tasks. As a result, interns learn about the legislative process and the many other functions of a congressional office. Internship candidates should be prepared to work a minimum of 10 hours per week.

Communications Internship

Communications interns work in DC or San Diego alongside our communications team. Primary responsibilities include: creating social media content and graphics; drafting press releases and talking points; planning DC and San Diego press events; cutting and editing videos; organizing and tracking photos; compiling press clips and tracking coverage.

Candidates must have strong writing and social media skills and demonstrate sound political instincts. Please include social media or graphic sample with your application.

San Diego District Office Internship

In my San Diego district office, interns may be asked to do a variety of things, including day-to-day office work such as answering phones, writing letters, and responding to constituent inquiries.  Interns may also assist with constituent casework and District-based projects of importance, with plenty of opportunities for community outreach and engagement.

Paid Internships– Washington, D.C. and San Diego

Washington, D.C. – We offer a maximum of four paid internships during the summer months. Summer interns are paid $5,000 for three months of full-time work.

  • D.C. Office: April 1st
  • San Diego Office: April 15th
