Palmer Elected to Serve Second Term as Republican Policy Committee Chairman

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Gary Palmer (AL-06) has been elected by his colleagues to serve again as Chairman of the Republican Policy Committee (RPC) for the 117th Congress. Congressman Palmer released the following statement:

“I’m grateful to my colleagues for their support and look forward to serving them in this role again,” Palmer said. “Problem solving and practical solutions have always been the strength of the Republican Party, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue to make the RPC a reliable resource on a broad range of issues for the House Republican Conference.

“Going forward, I’m committed continuing to build the RPC as a dependable in-house think tank for House Republicans. I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve our conference once again as part of our leadership team, and to collaborate with all our colleagues as we work together to advance sensible policy ideas that benefit all Americans.”

The Republican Policy Committee was established in 1949, and Congressman Palmer was elected as its 18th Chairman during the 116th Congress. It serves as an advisory committee to House Republicans and provides them a forum for discussion of policy ideas and current legislation before the House.
