Palmer Protects Individual Freedom

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Gary Palmer (R-AL) released the following statement after the passage of his amendment to appropriations legislation that includes the District of Columbia’s 2019 budget. The amendment will prevent funding from being used to implement the District of Columbia’s Health Insurance Requirement Amendment Act of 2018:

Wednesday, October 7 U.S. Representative Gary Palmer (R from Hoover) announced in a statement that he has voted for House Resolution 461, establishing a Select Investigative Panel of the Committee on Energy and Commerce to investigate alleged inhumane issues surrounding fetal tissue procurement practices.

For Immediate Release Washington D.C. – Today, Congressman Gary Palmer (R-AL), a member of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, voted for H.Res. 461, Establishing a Select Investigative Panel of the Committee on Energy and Commerce. Introduced by Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-NC), this resolution establishes panel to investigate issues surrounding fetal tissue procurement, federal funding that goes to abortion providing organizations, and medical procedures in the case of children born alive during an attempted abortion. The legislation passed by a vote of 242 to 184.

Wednesday, September 29, 2015 U.S. Representative Gary Palmer (R from Alabama) said in a statement that he is a cosponsor of H.R.3495, the Women's Public Health and Safety Act. H.R.3495 was introduced by Rep. Sean Duffy (R from Wisconsin). This bill allows states to exclude organizations that perform abortions from participating in Medicaid programs. Congressman Palmer voted for this bill on the House floor on Wednesday. The bill passed by a vote of 236 to 193.
