Congressman DeSaulnier to Host Virtual Town Hall with Special Guest Constitutional Scholar Congressman Jamie Raskin

Walnut Creek, CA – Today, Congressman Mark DeSaulnier (CA-11) announced that he will host a virtual town hall on Friday, October 30th at 11:00 a.m. PT to discuss legal and Constitutional questions surrounding the upcoming election. Congressman DeSaulnier will be joined by renowned Constitutional law professor and election expert Congressman Jamie Raskin (MD-08). The event will be held live on Zoom and on Congressman DeSaulnier’s Facebook page (facebook.com/repmarkdesaulnier). This will be Congressman DeSaulnier’s 117th town hall and mobile district office hour since coming to Congress.

During the town hall, DeSaulnier and Raskin will discuss:

  • How we protect our vote in 2020 to ensure our democracy is safe and secure;
  • What happens if the House of Representatives is forced to decide the outcome of the 2020 Presidential election;
  • Why we need 25th Amendment legislation to establish an independent commission on presidential capacity;
  • What happens next with the Supreme Court of the United States.
