(Chico, CA) – Congressman Doug LaMalfa issued the following statement after the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) issued a $3,441,268.50 grant to Butte County for an alternate project and to facilitate the deed transfer of the Honey Run Covered Bridge, per Board of Supervisors approval, to the Honey Run Covered Bridge Association (HRCBA). This deed transfer will allow HRCBA to use private funds to rebuild the bridge following its destruction in the 2018 Camp Fire.

(Susanville, CA) – Congressman Doug LaMalfa (R-Richvale) issued the following statement after the U.S. Department of Transportation issued two grants, $600,000 for the Bureau of Land Management and $700,000 for the U.S. Forest Service, from the Emergency Relief for Federally Owned Roads program to repair or reconstruct Federal Lands Management Agencies transportation facilities that were damaged or destroyed during the Hog Fire in Lassen County.

(Paradise, CA) – Congressman Doug LaMalfa (R-Richvale) issued the following statement after the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced two grants totaling $76,989,729 to assist with Camp Fire recovery in Paradise. The first grant awards $48,272,229 to Paradise Irrigation District (PID) to repair damage to water mains, including contaminated pipes, and restore and update their infrastructure to current standards. The second grant awards $28,717,500 to the Town of Paradise to restore roads damaged during debris removal activities. As a result of debris removal, the roads have incurred permanent damage due to the frequent hauling of debris and transportation of heavy equipment.

(Dunsmuir, CA) – Congressman Doug LaMalfa (R-Richvale) announced a $7,934,000 loan and a $2,285,000 grant from U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development for the City of Dunsmuir. These funds will help replace and upgrade the water distribution system, including replacing 25,000 feet of troublesome, even failing, waterlines and 40 new fire hydrants.

(Washington, DC) – Congressman Doug LaMalfa issued the following statement after the House passed H.R. 7575, the Water Resources Development Act (WRDA), with Congressman LaMalfa’s support. This biennial legislation authorizes water projects across the United States, and reforms programs within the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Civil Works Office. Army Corps projects improve America’s ports and harbors, inland waterway navigation, levees, dams and other water-related infrastructure.

(Washington, DC) – Congressman Doug LaMalfa (R-Richvale) recently announced three grants totaling $3,538,721 from the Federal Aviation Administration for Dunsmuir Municipal-Mott, Red Bluff Municipal, and Rogers Field in Chester. These funds were made available by H.R. 748, the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Support (CARES) Act which he supported earlier this year.

(Washington, DC) – Congressman Doug LaMalfa (R-Richvale) recently sponsored two amendments supporting rural broadband to be included in H.R. 7608, the State, Foreign Operations, Agriculture, Rural Development, Interior, Environment, Military Construction, and Veterans Affairs Appropriations Act. The first amendment increases funding by $25 million for distance learning, telemedicine, and broadband. The second amendment requires $50 million of the $915 million for the Rural Utilities Service to be spent on rural broadband in “unserved” areas, which have no access to broadband at all.
