When it comes to health care, I believe Americans deserve access to quality, affordable health care options that can be tailored to fit their needs.

Throughout Northern California, I hear from many residents struggling under Obamacare. From high premiums, fewer choices, and costly mandates, the status quo is simply not working. These challenges are only exasperated in rural areas where workforce shortages continue to be an obstacle in accessing timely care.  I share these concerns and believe we must do better. I support repealing Obamacare and replacing it with reforms that lower the cost of care and put patients back in charge of their health care decisions.

I also will continue to strongly advocate for programs that help improve care in rural areas, such as Federally Qualified Community Health Centers and the Teaching Health Center Graduate Medical Education program. Both of these have proven success in increasing primary care options in underserved areas, while preventing unnecessary and costly hospital visits. 

In Congress, I will continue to work to reform our health care system to one that is patient centered, and expands access to affordable, quality care for everyone.

LaMalfa, California Republicans Urge Governor Newsom to Immediately Release Coronavirus Aid to Local Governments

(Washington, DC) — Congressman Doug LaMalfa, joined by the California Republican delegation in the U.S. House of Representatives, sent a letter to Governor Newsom requesting he immediately release federal funding from the Coronavirus Relief Fund created by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. According the local health officials, Governor Newsom has threatened to withhold this funding from several counties if they refused to comply with state shutdown mandates. California received $15.3 billion in funds from the Coronavirus Relief Fund earlier this year, $9.5 billion of which was disbursed to the state with the intention of the state sending the money to smaller counties.

LaMalfa Announces Grant Supporting Rural Healthcare Provider
