American foreign policy must focus on promoting freedom throughout the world, and building dependable alliances around the world. While foreign aid is a strong tool to incentivize adherence to these values, our nation should never fund countries or organizations that act against our interests.
Our nation has built the largest economy and the strongest military ever known. We must always leverage that strength to accomplish our nation’s goal of fostering peace and free trade around the globe.

(Washington, DC) – Congressman Doug LaMalfa (R-Richvale) issued the following statement after the U.S. Military, at the direction of President Trump, took direct action against identified terrorists linked the the Iranian Regime. Two targets were killed in an air strike near Baghdad Airport that include U.S.-designated terrorist Iranian Quds Force General Qassem Soleimani and militia leader Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis. Both men were responsible for the planning and attack on the U.S. Embassy in Iraq earlier this week.

(Washington, DC) – Congressman Doug LaMalfa (R-Richvale) issued the following statement after voting in favor of S. 178, the Uighur Intervention and Global Humanitarian Unified Response (UIGHUR) Act. The UIGHUR Act would impose sanctions on Chinese government officials personally responsible for the discriminatory acts and would require export licenses for items that allow China’s government to commit human rights violations.
