This requires preserving open spaces, developing sustainable communities, achieving energy efficiency and water conservation, and investing in alternative energy sources. I will fight for protective measures against the harmful effects of climate change and hold local polluters accountable.

Protecting the environment can also help to create new jobs. By developing new energy sources and technologies, we can strengthen and diversify our economy while providing for American workers and their families.
